   Born in South Otselic, the daughter of a Chenango County dairy farmer; nicknamed "Billy", she worked at a skirt factory in Cortland.

   Prison Oregon Women's Correctional Center, Salem · Diane Downs

   Downs climbed a razor-wire fence and escaped from the prison on July 11, 1987. She was caught about ten days later and moved to a more secure facility.

3. 2000
   Court / trial Clark County District Court, Las Vegas · Zane Floyd

   Floyd's trial began July 11, 2000. The jury convicted him two days later and returned death sentences on July 21; he was formally sentenced on August 31, 2000.
