In 1985 and 2000, two barrels holding the remains of a woman and three young girls were found in woods near Bear Brook State Park in Allenstown, New Hampshire. In 2017 the New Hampshire Attorney General's office named the killer as a man known as "Bob Evans", later identified through genetic genealogy as Terry Peder Rasmussen; one of the girls was his daughter. He had died in a California prison in 2010 while serving a sentence for murdering his wife, Eunsoon Jun, so he was never tried for the Bear Brook killings. All four victims were identified by 2025. Investigators also believe he killed Denise Beaudin, who disappeared from Manchester in 1981, and Rea's mother, Pepper Reed.
