Anthony Garcia, a physician who had been dismissed from Creighton University's pathology residency in 2001, killed four people in Omaha in revenge against faculty members he blamed. In March 2008 he killed 11-year-old Thomas Hunter, the son of Creighton pathologist Dr. William Hunter, and the family's housekeeper, Shirlee Sherman, in the Hunters' home in the Dundee neighborhood. On Mother's Day 2013 he killed Dr. Roger Brumback, another Creighton pathologist, and his wife Mary in their west Omaha home; the same day he tried to break into the home of a former professor. Arrested in Illinois that July, he was convicted in 2016 and sentenced to death in 2018.
